Barcelona is one of the most exciting cities in Europe for students. Whether you’re studying or just exploring, there’s always something happening. Here are five must do things every Erasmus student should try.
1. Relax at Barceloneta Beach
After a long day of classes, there’s nothing better than heading to the beach. Barceloneta is the perfect place to relax, meet friends, and enjoy the sun. You will find people surfing, playing beach volleyball or even doing callisthenics on the beach. Even if you’re not fan of the beach, many people go to Barceloneta to walk or run along the shoreline.
2. Explore the Gothic Quarter
The Gothic Quarter is full of narrow streets, hidden squares, and historic buildings. It’s the perfect place to get lost and discover the city’s history. There are cafés, cool thrift shops and amazing views everywhere.
3. Visit Sagrada Família
One of the most famous landmarks in the world, so you should not miss it, is a must see. Even seeing it from the outside, it’s unforgettable but I would recommend you to go and see it from the inside as well and more specifically at sunset hour, because the sun rays reflect on the windows and it creates this magical atmosphere.
4. Try Local Food
Barcelona is known for its amazing food. Tapas as well as paella are perfect for students because they’re affordable and great for sharing with friends. And if you want something sweet, churros are the perfect sweet treat for you.
5. Experience the Nightlife
Barcelona has a vibrant nightlife scene. From beach bars to clubs, there’s something for everyone, especially for Erasmus students. There is always something happening everyday, and each day they have different music genres playing at clubs.
Barcelona offers the perfect mix of relaxation, culture, and fun, making it an unforgettable experience, that you won’t get bored of your daily routine.
